How We Fell in Love

Well, since this blog talks a lot about my future wedding I thought I would let you know how the two love birds met....

It all goes back to the fall of 2005 (yes we have known each other that long!) My best friend at the time was dating Shea's cousin. Her and I both worked at the same establishment and she begged me to have us both take off one Friday night so I could come meet her new boyfriend (Shea's cousin). I kept telling her that I couldn't and made up reason after reason, but I finally gave in. We were going to meet him at a mini golf/driving range and meet some of his friends. We got there and it was cold (no duh it was Novemeber!), but we waited outside for everyone to show up. Shea pulled in driving a white Honda Civic, wearing a NY Giants hoodie, and music blaring. (Apparently I should have walked away right then) Then, more of Shea's friends showed up and we went to the driving range. Shea impressed with his golf swing and kept looking my direction. After golf we all decided to go bowling.

When we were waiting for my friend's father to come pick us up (yea at 16 your father doesn't allow you to drive in strange boy's cars!) Shea asked us if we wanted to sit in his car to stay warm, we both go "NO!" and think creeper!! Haha! (OOoo poor Shea just trying to be sweet!) We went to bowling and I was kicking Shea's butt! (He swears he let me win and since I can't beat him again to this day I guess he is telling the truth) When we were waiting to bowl Shea came over and asked if I wanted to play 20 questions on his phone. (yes ladies and gentleman he made the first move!) We laughed and laughed as we played the game and went home saying to eachother "hope to see you again." I got NO phone number, NO AIM screen name, NOTHING! No way to contact this person. But, back then there was the annoying social media site called Myspace. Shea ended up finding me on that, and we exchanged AIM screen names where we talked for hours. We started hanging out with his cousin and my best friend not long after.

One thing led to another and Shea and I started hanging out alone, and one day in December Shea came to pick me up from my house. As we were driving I knew he was nervous about something (especially since my best friend had told me he was going to ask me out) and he was driving weird. He finally got the courage to ask me out as he was driving me to go meet his family for his mother's birthday! haha! I said "yes!" and he headed to his grandmother's house where I met all of his family!

And the rest of the almost 7 years is history! (Oooo and by the way his cousin and my friend broke up after 4 months!)

We have dated ever since and have fallen in love with each other more and more every single day! We might do stuff backwards, but that is just us! I couldn't ask for a better best friend and partner in crime!

Love you Shea Butter!!
